Founded by Mike Allington in 2022, Charter Tomislav was created out of a lifelong love for sailing and more than 25 years of experience exploring the Croatian coast.

I first began sailing in Croatia in 1999, and over the years I returned again and again — drawn by the beauty of the Adriatic, the diversity of the islands, and the unique freedom that comes with exploring the coastline by boat. Beginning in 2011, I started chartering regularly with Sunlife Charter, developing a long-standing relationship built on trust, quality, and consistently excellent experiences.

After more than a decade of sailing with Sunlife, I decided to take the next step. In 2022, I founded Charter Tomislav and purchased a new Lagoon 40 catamaran directly from the Lagoon shipyard in France, naming her Osprey. I chose the Lagoon 40 because it offers an ideal balance of comfort, performance, and ease of handling — a design perfectly suited for exploring Croatia’s islands and coastal waters. It is a beautiful, well-balanced yacht and one of the most popular catamarans in the Adriatic.

Since then, I continue to sail Osprey personally once or twice each year — trips I genuinely look forward to and use to stay closely connected to the boat and the sailing experience I offer to guests.

Although I’m originally from the United States, I’ve spent more than 20 years living and working in Europe…Germany, England and the Balkans. I speak Croatian and have a deep knowledge and understanding of the region, its culture, and its sailing conditions. This allows me to bridge the expectations of international guests with the local knowledge needed to create a smooth, enjoyable experience.
